Product Introduction
This 8-station rotary pouch-feeding machine is specifically designed to handle pre-made stand-up pouches featuring composite zippers.
Handling zippered pouches presents specific challenges: zipper protrusions, tendency for the pouch mouth to stick together, high failure rates in opening, incomplete zipper re-closing, and seal failure caused by material adhering to the opening. Consequently, the machine incorporates specialized mechanisms that differ from those found in standard flat-pouch packaging machines.
Overall Operational Logic
The machine utilizes a rotary turntable with intermittent motion; grippers hold both sides of the zippered pouch, and the turntable advances one station at a time to execute a specific process step.
Key Differences from Standard Pouch-Feeding Machines: The inclusion of mechanisms for zipper positioning, forceful pouch opening, and zipper re-closing; the entire workflow is optimized for the specific characteristics of zippered pouches.
Dedicated Zipper Bag Opening Station
Standard flat bags open easily with suction cups on both sides; however, zipper bags have two film layers interlocked by the zipper, causing the opening to stick together-suction alone is insufficient.
Two sets of vacuum suction cups (upper and lower) grip the front and back of the bag respectively;
The suction cups pull the bag body outward while a high-pressure air nozzle extends into the opening, inflating the bag with compressed air;
Sensors monitor the opening height: if the zipper fails to disengage or the opening is insufficient, the machine registers a failure, preventing the subsequent filling station from dispensing material and thereby avoiding spills.
Industry Challenge: Many machines fail to blow open the interlocked zipper, rendering half the bags unusable for filling. High-quality equipment addresses this by increasing airflow and extending the suction cup stroke.
